Welcome to the HaPe Learning Village.
Self-sustainable village built and run by children using renewable resources.
Join the tribe, build your village!
We start the day with an introduction and getting to know each other.
- Icebreaking games.
Kids are divided into tribes (teams).
- Choose the name and the leader. of your tribe
- Design the tribe symbol and t-shirt.
- Learn about the culture, traditions and language of your tribe members
- Create a vision board and plan for the village
- Have a battle (sports games) with other tribes.
- Create your cups and plates and anything else you want with clay
- Set up farmers market/cafe (business management)
- Time to cook your meals for lunch
- Nature walk and treasure hunt
- Use the seeds from the food we had for lunch and plant them in the garden
- Learn about edible plants and how food is the source of health.
- Build a hut
- Generate energy for the lights
Each child has a role, purpose and responsibilities in the village and. Some but not all available roles: photographer, journalist, chef, project manager, entertainment centre and events manager, sports coordinator, technology and innovation manager, research centre scientist, health and wellness guru, landscape planner, gardener, food market and cafe manager etc
Between activities, there is time to play and meet the farm animals: rabbits, chickens, cows, sheep, horses.
Bring a hat, raincoat, water bottle. Gumboots are great for the farm. Wear clothes suitable for the weather,
We are meeting at 9 am at the Ambury Farm.
Early drop-off at 8 am and late pickup at 4 pm available from Three Kings.
