Play fosters creativity, confidence and engagement. It builds strong teams and drives innovation. But how can you turn play into a business?
About this event:
Play is a verb that's mostly associated with under the 12s corner. As adults, often our 'play time' tends to become more Friday night drinks and perhaps a yearly festival adventure. But what happens when adults get the chance to innocently play year-round? And where can you find such playful experiences in Auckland?
Ashlee Ackland is an entrepreneur and business mentor that has been facilitating play all her life. A specialist in immersive entertainment, she has spent the last 15 years working in the play(events) industry in London, producing some of the most legendary parties in the world and working with some of the UK pioneers of play-business; Secret Cinema, Sunday Assembly, Glastonbury Festival and Bearded Kitten.
Ashlee will share her experiences and learnings on the impact of playing and facilitating play. Including a taster for the coming Business of Play workshops on Motivation, Money and Growth. This talk will leave you with some actionable take-aways for your arts business and leave you feeling inspired to play!
We invite you to join us for this introductory online talk from The Business of Play - an educational platform which teaches performing arts professionals how to create a steady income from their art. This talk is the first in a series of events shining light on the magical place where play and business collide.
The three part workshop series will be held in September:
9th September: - 1. Take Action - A workshop on MOTIVATION AND MOMENTUM
16th September: - 2. Get Paid your Worth - A workshop on MONEY MAKING
23rd September: - 3. Strategy to Scale - A workshop on BUSINESS GROWTH
