Allison Tuckwell and is a mixed medium artist. "I’ve been making art for most of my life. I’ve recently arrived in Nelson after living overseas for 20 years. I currently utilise the studio space at Magenta which has allowed me to continue my work since being here in Nelson."
A common thread running through Tuckwell's work is the idea of connection to place. Largely in mixed mediums on paper and canvas with recurring motifs which include maps, the night sky, houses, fish and birds.Tuckwell uses these motifs in the exploration of the themes of place and identity which run throughout her body of work.
