On Thursday 22 April depart 10 am from the Octagon by the i-SITE visitors centre for two free Wild Bus Tours. Tour guides Nature Chasers, Samuel Purdie and Taylor Davies-Colley will ensure an entertaining bus ride to Orokonui Ecosanctuary - Te Korowai o Mihiwaka. The bus will return to the Octagon by 2 pm.
Explore the walking tracks in this unique cloud forest ecology, and meet the rare birds and reptiles that live here in safety. Enjoy a family day out with a Kids Ecosanctuary Explorer Pack filled with fun activities - pick one up on your way through the Visitor Centre for a special Earth Day entrance fee of $5 per person (pre-school children free).
Children attending this event can redeem a Toyota Kiwi Guardians Wild Dunedin Medal. Learn how to claim your medal at Wild Dunedin's website.
There is a cafe at the Ecosanctuary so you are not permitted to eat a packed lunch there. We suggest you bring something easy to eat on the bus if the cafe isn't an option for you.
We wish to thank Good Company Tours for supporting our initiative to enable more people to get out and about amongst nature in Wild Dunedin.
Bus- $5 entry fee per person to Orokonui applies (pre-school children free). Please ensure you arrive at the bus 15 minutes before departure time, i.e. 9.45 am. As spaces are limited you need to book a place.
