After the success of the first Wildflower Festival in January 2019, Zelda Bruce, founder and international artist, is reimagining the event “In a field of roses I’m a wildflower” as an exciting collaboration of art, music and culture between Yebo Art Studios and the community between 29th January and 14th February 2021.
There will be an art exhibition throughout the festival at Yebo Art Studio on the theme ‘50 Shades of Rainbow’. Exhibition opening night will be 29th January featuring work by Zelda Bruce, Anne Taylor, Sue Jenkinson, Elana Daem, accompanied by sculptures by Sean Crawford, Mark Dimock amongst others.
An exciting programme of workshops is planned to nurture, connect, heal and restore on an individual and community level. There will be several days with Live Music Playing and Food Stalls to complement events.
After a severe burn accident in 2008, Zelda was flown to Hutt Hospital by Life Flight helicopter and her original idea for an art and music day remained dormant for 11 years. In 2015, all funds from Zelda’s art work sold at Aratoi was gifted to Life Flight - a cause close to Zelda’s heart.
Come celebrate art in summer, have a go and like wild flowers GROW.
