Channel your creative energy and join us for a night of wine and design

Hosted by the wonderful team from Three Cups of Tea Ceramics, be inspired, get creative, and make your own unique planter pot.

During this workshop, you will build your own plant pot out of clay, and then decorate it using natural materials and clay stamps to create surface textures and add personality. Participants will roll clay flat, cut out shapes, join two pieces of clay together and then stamp in textures or draw decorations on their planter.

Three Cups of Tea is a creative collaboration between Elise Johnston and Karen Taylor O'Neill. Their ceramics are handmade in small batches in Ōtepoti Dunedin, and are durable and designed to be used. They draw inspiration from the colours and creatures of New Zealand's wild places and this is expressed in their range of coloured glazes, and the hand drawn images of endemic birds and trees that are a feature of their products. The rituals and pleasure of sharing moments with friends and family over cups of tea is at the heart of their collaboration.

After the planters have been made, they will be fired and glazed by Three Cups of Tea Ceramics in a soft white glaze to enhance the surface decorations. The finished pieces can then be collected from Otago Museum. All materials will be provided for the workshop but participants are encouraged to bring their own apron.

Bring your friends, or make new friends, and create something lovely while sipping a glass of Quartz Reef wine in the beautiful Otago Museum Atrium.

Tickets are $60 and include everything you need to make your own planter, wine from Quartz Reef and canapés! Cash bar also available.
