A day of clay is a one day clay workshop
Students will be focusing on ceramic hand building techniques.
This is a popular course and a great introduction into clay as a creative medium.
- Students will create there own cut out and hand carved , hand painted works I.e jewellery, wall hanging, signage, lettering
-Students will learn to carve and use underglaze on a porcelain planter.
- Students will make there own bespoke piece, using slab building or pinch potting. I.e cup, bowl, house candle holder, paint palette….
All of the students works will go through a bisque and glaze firing. Materials and firings are included in the price.
Inner City Art Studio has a focus on teaching techniques in a variety of materials.
About your tutor:
Irena kennedy has an MFA in sculpture, has taught kids for over 12 years running workshops in Auckland, Melbourne, Thailand and Peru. She has worked in film art department and at Weta Workshop. Irena is a practicing artist and currently works part time as a learning specialist at City Gallery in Wellington
