A J Seeley Gully Reserve Restoration - Community Activity.
Please Come and listen to tui singing at this inner-city sanctuary. Help continue the gully restoration started by Dr Alwyn Seeley over 60 years ago!
Join neighbours and other volunteers helping to restore this central city hidden gem, as part of the wider urban restoration programme in the city.
The Seeley Gully group and other volunteers meet on a regular basis most Mondays at 9:30 am, to undertake various environmental conservation tasks within the park.
Removal of environmental weeds, track maintenance, restoration planting, and stream erosion control.
For this project you will need to have:
- Suitable footwear (gumboots good)
- Raincoat (we go rain or shine!)
- Gardening gloves (I have a few, pays to bring your own just in case)
- Lots of energy!
We meet next to the large 'A J Seeley Gully Reserve' sign near the end of Armagh St, if you arrive after 9.30 am please walk through the park to find us, we won't be far away.
Here's how you can become involved:
Simply complete the 'Community Planting Registration Form' and we'll be in touch to chat about volunteering options or contact Gerard Kelly (Community Planting Co-ordinator) on Tuesdays between 9 am - 3 pm.
Please be aware to follow COVID-19 protocols.
Please do not attend if you have any 'flu-like' symptoms.
It is very important for us to track all participants for any future contact tracing purposes.
