A SKULL IN CONNEMARA

If dark humour is for you, Unity Theatre's forthcoming production opening on 1st April will tickle your funny-bone....

Bones are a visual feature of his somewhat outrageous Irish comedy from the pen of acclaimed playwright, Martin McDonagh.
Director Norman Maclean has previously put three of these gruesomely hilarious comedies on stage and is finding this one no exception.
He is delighted with the lively performances appearing even in the early rehearsal stages, from his four players: Ayden Malone, Sandy Britain,
Liz Minogue and Sabian Nickerson.

The cast are distinctively strange and oddly appealing rural characters who take the audience through skullduggery of a kind they will not have experienced theatrically before. McDonagh's wild imagination draws upon Irish stereotypes of a kind not encountered in that country's sophisticated cities but who can still be found in bucolic settings where heavy drinking of the local brew, poteen, and engaging in vigorous scandal and vindictive back-biting are a way of life.

The production is intended to shock and has moments that will certainly startle at the very least.
Watch for details and make a point of reserving seats early at the i-Site Office in Grey St. as audience numbers are limited given our nationwide restrictions. SKULL is not to be missed!

Doors open 6.30 pm - please come early to allow time for scanning in, and vaccination pass scanning. The bar will be open - you will be served in your seat by our volunteers.
