Catering to a diverse community, our classes provide professional level training whilst also being open to various levels of experience.
Independance welcomes dancers, actors, body practitioners, students, athletes or anybody looking to enhance their relationship to movement through classes and workshops. Based in Auckland, Independance is an ongoing initiative that provides a sustainable and progressive training programme, a community in action and a movement forum for the exchange and growth of contemporary dance and performance practice in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Independance endeavours to foster a community of practitioners, supporting dance and performance practice in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Independance has had many homes, supporters and co-ordinators during its journey that began in 2004, and we thank all those who have worked hard to foster its growth and success.
Currently working closely in partnership with Wellesley Studios, Independance strives to provide sustainable and progressive training opportunities, a community in action, a safe place to connect and explore and a movement forum for the exchange and growth of contemporary dance.
