Art journaling is a wonderful way to find the courage and freedom to express yourself and experiment with creativity. In this 6-week course, you will create a unique hand-bound journal using easy-to-find materials and simple, fun techniques. This course is designed to bring a child-like spirit and playfulness to creating. You will use collage, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, alcohol inks, markers, stencils and monoprinting to create patterned papers that will be bound into a beautiful journal that is ready for your use. Anyone can join - no experience needed!
The course will have the following structure over the 6 weeks:
- Collage
- Stencilling and expressive mark-making
- Monoprinting using Gelli plates
- Image transfers
- Alcohol inks
- Book Binding
The tutor will vary the content to adapt to people's needs so that returning students will benefit from new techniques.

Materials provided. All students agree to comply with DWEA terms and conditions, and to comply with any SDCN Covid policies if these are required at the time of this class.
The cost is $75 for the 6-week course. This is payable by credit card via Paypal or internet banking.
If you have a Community Services Card, the fee is reduced by 50% to $37.50. In this case, please email your name, address, phone number and email address to dunedinwea@gmail.com stating which course you want to enrol in. We will enrol you and then you can pay the discounted price by bank transfer. You will be required to bring your Community Services Card on the first day of class for verification.
