Augmented Reality Workshop and Artist Talk with Kat Iosia

Come and experience Kat Iosia's augmented reality artwork, The AR-tist behind the AR-t. Join us in hearing her speak about her experience working with AR technologies and see this installation through AR glasses.

Katrina Iosia is quickly emerging as a dynamic and leading female AR artist/developer in Aotearoa. As a Pasifika woman in Art and Tech, she has a background in visual arts and design and has traversed seamlessly into Mixed Reality art. She has exhibited on curated digital platforms like 'Digital Art Month' in Paris (2021) and this year was a featured artist in the 2022 Vancouver Winter Arts Fest https://www.winterartsfest.com/artists. She was recognised by Lenslist as one of '8 Snapchat Lens Creators You Should Know'. She is now a seasoned NFT creator as well as New Zealand's only official SNAPCHAT Lens creator and ambassador for AR Spectacles.

SOUTH-VERSED is a self-curated group exhibition with work by eight artists brought together by the Ōtara Scorpions For Life Mural 2022. The title combines three concepts:

VERSED def. Experienced, skilled in; knowledge about a subject

VERSE adj. adoption ref. Metaverse; a topical issue of interest to the artists
