Boxing Day Races

Auckland’s great summer celebration is coming to Pukekohe Park.

High-octane racing, hospitality & family entertainment combine to bring you this iconic occasion.

Running for over 160 years, the Boxing Day Races (ordinarily at Ellerslie Racecourse but taking place at Pukekohe Park for 2022) offer impressive thoroughbred racing and good hospitality as well as fun, free family entertainment - ensuring this day is marked as a ‘must attend’ for Aucklanders.

For those with children in tow, FREE General Admission and free activities for the kids make attending a 'no brainer'. We've got the likes of a bouncy castle, swingball, face painting and other organized games and activities on offer throughout the day to keep them entertained between races.

The quality of racing is top tier, with the Group 1 Cambridge Stud Zabeel Classic and the Group 2 Eight Carat Classic heading up an exciting 10 race card.

Boxing Day and fashion go hand-in-hand and this year we’re bringing the ladies another chance to show their fashion flare in the SkyCity Auckland Style Stakes where our finalists will take home some FAB prizes.

The Boxing Day Races are also a stop on ‘The Grand Tour’ of New Zealand’s Top 20 racedays so we encourage you to round up the crew and make the most of the racing oncourse and if you're a ticketholder to The Lane, you're welcome to enjoy The Grand Tour zone - it’s your chance to kick up your heels, or kick back and relax.
