In this Introductory CLO 3D workshop, you will learn the basics of how to navigate around this 3D Fashion Design programme using the relevant virtual sewing and pattern-making construction tools to develop a garment. The workshop will cover the basic workflow of designing an avatar (mannequin) in a 3D workspace, developing a simple pattern using both the 2D and 3D windows, and adjusting the garment in real-time. Virtually sewing up and conducting a fit assessment of the garment, you will learn how to manipulate and amend your digital pattern for a better fit and style, just like you would with a physical first sample. We will then look at fabrics and trims offered in the CLO 3D library, basic print development and colourway options for your garment. The last step we will cover is the final rendering and image output for presentations of garments with and without avatars, and various techniques to capture different moods, using lighting and other post-editing options offered in CLO 3D.
To get the most out of this workshop, it is helpful to have moderate computer knowledge such as knowing the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), as well as having a basic understanding of pattern making and sewing construction methods.
