In this series of 1 hr Evening talks you’ll hear from people Restoring Relationships for the wellbeing of our environment and community. From lakes, mauri, gullies to native birds you’ll be educated, inspired and better connected to the restoration work happening around our region, and the people and groups behind it.

Speakers: Lynnette Rogers & Bruce MacKay

The Fairfield Project started as a grass-roots community group, who created a vision to restore the Kukutaaruhe Gully to as close to pre-European flora and fauna as possible, whilst providing an educational environment for those involved.

"We want to create a space where the community can interact, learn and connect to the whenua and participate in relevant kaitiakitanga practices. To achieve this we work with Ngaati Wairere advice, and with wider community support and expertise. In this seminar we will explore how we work with our community to restore the gully, and to build a sense of community around this taonga".

These talks can be attended on Zoom, or at EarthDiverse, 401 Angleasea Street, Kirikiriroa. If you’re interested in more talks like this, please check out our Lunchtime Talks in gullies across the city.
