Family Day

Our popular Family Day returns these school holidays!

Come to City Gallery Wellington and become an art explorer this Family Day. Using your imagination and looking closely who knows what you’ll discover!

Join us for one or all of our 7 art activities for the whole whānau.

Zine making (drop-in): Create your own personalised zine.

Bloom (drop-in): Imagine and collaborate as a family using bright pink construction pieces to connect and construct whole new worlds.

Odd Shot Photos (drop-in): What do you see when you visit the Gallery? Borrow a camera and take a photo of something unusual or unexpected.

Story Time 1pm: Join storyteller Moira Wairama and Celtic harpist Karen Jones for a pop-up story time inspired by the exhibition Matarau. Combining art and imagination, this 45 minute session is suitable for the whole family.

Square eyes films (drop-in): Be delighted and entertained by short films from Square Eyes exploring new worlds of imagination.

Paper Flower Making (drop-in): Come and construct your own flower sculpture to take home. Decorate the petals with shapes and colour. Turn it into a badge to wear home.

Art Encounter Jr 12pm & 2pm: Become an art explorer by joining one our tour guides to look closely at one artwork. Encounter art together as we tell stories about, ask questions, and look to discover more.
