Its 1965, when Kiwi blokes could woo with a waltz and women would fall for a fellah with a fancy foxtrot. It’s also the year after the Beatles came down under and a new generation wants to rock, roll, shake it up, and twist and shout. Hair is getting longer, skirts are getting shorter but, although some of the sheilahs see flaws in the futures mapped out for them, marriage and babies are still high on the agenda. Trouble is, Rita is neither married nor engaged. But she is pregnant! Jack might be the dad but he’s with Jill and she wants to announce their engagement, tonight! What’s more her old man, Sid, has a violent streak. Cripes, it’s all on down at the dance hall on Saturday night!
“Flagons and Foxtrots is hysterical. Enough to send the audience into paroxysms of delight.” - NZ Listener.
