With a low tide at 1.30pm we have an opportunity for a beach walk if we start mid-morning.
Walk around Tatapouri Point, along Makarori Beach, over Makarori headland, along Wainui Beach and to the trig on Tuaheni Point. We will start by leaving a vehicle at the Tuaheni Point end to take car drivers back to the vehicles at Tatapouri. About 10 km of beach walking, and a climb to the trig on Tuaheni Point.
