Harcourts Hawkes Bay Women’s Tri – Great Things Happen When Women Tri-be!

8.30am – 9.20am Registration (to pick up timing tag and be marked off as being present)
9.30am - Compulsory Race Briefing
10am- Triathlon/Aquabike/Aquathlon participants start at pool. These are rolling wave starts.
10.30am – Duathlon and Solo Runner start (near transition)

The Harcourts HB Women’s Tri will be a celebration of goals, challenges and incredible support along the way. This woman only event has specifically been designed for first timers. Even if you have never considered doing a triathlon before, this event is 100 percent achievable for you. You will be in great company for your first triathlon and will be joined on the start line with other ‘having a go’ amazing wahine. There are also longer events for you more competitive types! You can enter as a team or as individual. So get your besties, or your work mates, or your family together and dive in, take the plunge, put on your shoes, get on that bike, get training, get entered and we will see you at the finishing line.
There are multiple different races with different distances and options that should suit everyone, from the absolute beginner to the seasoned athlete. We encourage women and girls from the age of 7 to 99 and walkers are welcome and absolutely encouraged to enter. All events are held under the watchful eye of the amazing HB Tri club. All entry fees go to the Heretaunga Women’s Centre. Entries open Tuesday 2 August.

Triathlon
Short distance – 100m swim (2 lengths), 7.5km cycle (2 laps), 2.3km walk/run (1 lap around perimeter of Sportspark).
Middle distance – 250m swim (5 lengths), 13.5km cycle (4 laps), 4.5km walk/run (2 laps)
Long distance – 500m swim (10 lengths), 19km cycle (6 laps), 7km walk/run (3 laps)

Duathlon: Available to individuals and 2 or 3 person teams. Must be 12 years +
4.5km run (2 laps), 13.5km cycle (4 laps) and 2.3km walk/run (1 lap). This is a run/cycle/run. Or walk/cycle/run

Aquabike: Individuals only. Must be 12 years +
250m swim, 13.5km cycle

Aquathlon: Individuals only. Must be 12 years +
250m swim, 4.5km run

Run Only: Individuals only. Must be 12 years + (except 2.3km run only distance at 7 years +)
Choice of 2.3km/4.5km or 7km
