Caratoes, Dream Girls Collective (Gina Kiel, Xöe Hall, Miriama Grace-Smith), Fluro, Gleo, Meki, Paula Tikay, Janine Williams. Curated by Mango Collective.

An exciting line-up of nine internationally recognised female street artists, from five different countries, presents Here & Out, a vibrant exhibition based on their reflections and journeys during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.

Here & Out is about resilience in difficult times, about adapting and reshaping, and keeping the digital realm - a powerful tool - close, in times when society requires us to stay apart. It is set to make a lively statement.

For street artists the confinement of lockdowns has resulted in work based on negation of the experience ‘of the outside’, bringing instead a desire to reconnect with the community, and new ways of understanding what is public.

Here & Out brings colourful paintings, sculptures, illustrations, video performances, tapestry and small murals, and will expand with performances on the streets outside Toi Pōneke to celebrate the short-lived essence of street art.

Here & Out is strongly collaborative, facilitating long term connections between our nine participating local and international female street artists; connections that occur in front of a wall, at a festival, or in a graffiti jam, and that are likely to continue online.
