In this Intro to Sign Painting workshop you will learn how to make a beautiful wooden sign for your home, your garden, or your room… from priming your board to the last coat. Erno will step you through many of the lettering principles, color theory, and most importantly how to hold a sign painter brush like a master! At the end of this workshop, you will walk away with your very unique custom-made sign, to keep or to gift to a loved one.

Tutor: Erno Hajos

TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:

Essential signpainting materials
Paint mixing and brush paletting, and proper brush care
Basic brush strokes
Intro to lettering styles- casual, block and script
Transfer techniques – learn different ways of transferring your own designs onto different surfaces.
Create your own design! Learn how to compose and sketch out a design from scratch.
WHAT TO BRING?
We provide all materials and tools for you to create your sign on the day.
Brushes will be available to purchase if you wish to continue your practice at home.
