Introduction to Sanskrit Weekend Gathering

Dates

  • Fri 11 Feb 2022, 9:00am–12:00pm

All Ages

11 - 13th February 2022 | With Lalita Nath & Swami Karma Karuna

This weekend gathering is an opportunity to pay respect to the ancient tradition of yoga and begin a permanent connection to the beauty and energy of Sanskrit.

OVERVIEW:

The first step in learning Sanskrit is to develop an intimacy with each letter’s force, the unique way it engages the breath and vibrates one of the four natural tongue placements extending from the back of the plate forward towards the lips, the fifth position.

Simply by enjoying the process of applying variations of resonance and breath to 5 mount positions, you will find to your joy and delight that you have learned the Sanskrit alphabet! By the end of the weekend you’ll have the alphabet transferred to your palate and not only will you chant as never before, but you’ll also have a rock-solid foundation for learning the language in depth.

The 50 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet are reflected on the 50 petals of the chakras. Therefore, speaking or chanting Sanskrit supports the flow of the Nadis (energy lines) which are connected to the chakras. When we chant Sanskrit sounds we are chanting in vibration and harmony with the universe and resonating with the energies of the divine.

Swami Karma Karuna will be teaching the following on this gathering: Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Havan/Kirtan.
