Join Wellington-based artist Antoinette Ratcliffe for a workshop in taxidermy at Zealandia. In this class, she will demonstrate the basics of small pest species taxidermy and help you make your first piece using a wrap body form made from sustainable resources.
Together you'll also discuss the ethics involved in taxidermy, as well as what to expect during the process including health and safety elements and final mounting considerations.
The workshop will be held in the Pāteke room on the second floor of the Zealandia Visitor Centre, 9:30am - 5pm. BYO specimen (stoats, weasels, rats, or small wild rabbits) or contact antoinette_ratcliffe@yahoo.com to arrange one.
