Introduction To Woven Textiles

This 2-day workshop covers weaving theory, design and practical weaving on the lab's TC2 digital loom. Participants will make use of the Adobe Photoshop programme for woven textile designs. The workshop will appeal to artists, fabric developers, hand weavers, researchers, textile designers and anyone wishing to gain an understanding of woven fabrics and how to create conventional and unconventional woven designs.

Participants should bring their own laptop computer with the latest version of Adobe CC Photoshop already installed. If that is not possible, please let us know and we will ensure that a loan computer is made available for you.

The workshop has been designed to be a learning experience and should not be considered as an opportunity to research and develop a specific project. Following the workshop, participants are welcome to book time on the loom for this purpose.

What to bring
Materials are provided but please bring refreshments with you for morning and afternoon breaks and lunch. There are cafes in the locality that cater for all dietary requirements.
