Jess Atkin has become renowned for her distinctive, powerful yet soulful voice, which slips well into the Rock and R&B vibe yet transitions smoothly into the Jazz & Blues genres. She takes well known standards from a range of styles and puts her own distinctive slant on them. Something special to listen to.
Jess is supported by The Urban Cats. Fronted by the renowned "Dad" Dave Atkin on keyboard, the bass section is put together by mix of stand-up and electric bass by the multi-talented Alex Powley. The rhythm section is completed and kept in sync with husband Joost Persoon on Cahon. Adding to this, The Urban Cats are punctuated with a one-man horn section by the famous Matt Mear on trumpet, playing tasteful breaks and backgrounds.
