Experience the art of jewellery making in this beginners course that provides an introduction to the jeweller's workshop and basic hand skills. From the first class, it will be a hands-on experience at the jeweller's bench. Each bench is well equipped with the individual tools needed for the course. Your tutor will help you work confidently, by covering a variety of manufacturing techniques like piercing, filing, annealing, soldering, texturing, & polishing; skills you can practice & use in your own designs. The course fee includes all materials required to complete two projects, as well as coffee & tea during a compulsory 15-minute break.
The course is held off-site at the Jewellers Collective, Unit 2, 28 Clark Street New Lynn, (entrance off Ward Street) · During the first lesson, they will cover Health & Safety requirements in their induction programme "New HandS in the Workshop" regarding the use of workshop facilities and your participation in the class. · Every week you will be required to bring: A bib apron, wear closed-toe shoes, and have any, long hair tied up. · You are also welcome to bring your hand tools, metals, gems, or projects, if you have them.
