Kate De Goldi is one of New Zealand’s most loved authors, whose short fiction, novels and picture books engage children, teenagers and adults alike. Her most recent book, the deftly written Eddy, Eddy – is a coming of age story, a love story and an earthquake story populated with flawed and comical characters. It is also a story of the way grief's punch may leave you floundering – and how others can help you find your way back. In her review for Newsroom, fellow QWF guest Paddy Richardson described it this way: 'Subtle, intense, very funny and very sad, this is a richly layered novel written with elegance, style and love.'

Kate's novel The 10pm Question was published in 2008 to critical acclaim both in New Zealand and overseas, quickly becoming an iconic piece of New Zealand literature. It won Book of the Year and Best Young Adult Fiction in the 2009 New Zealand Post Children’s and Young Adults Book Awards. Kate has won numerous literary awards and held several major fellowships, and has been extensively involved with programmes and organisations focused on creative writing, reading and New Zealand literature.

Queenstown teacher Chris Fitzpatrick will interview Kate about Eddy, Eddy, as well as her wide-ranging career as a writer, editor, teacher, reviewer and broadcaster.
