Class Name: Knife Making
Tutor: Dennis Berdinner

Class Size: 8 (max number of students)

An experienced and skillful sculptor, Dennis has been passing on his knife-making skills to hundreds of many people for over 17 years. "I'm always amazed at how quickly they have been able to work with a design they have drawn up and then transformed a piece of car spring into a purpose-made tool. Their delight with their handiwork is a thing of beauty too!"

Class Description
Ever wanted to make your own knife? In this three-day class over two weekends, learn how to develop a design then forge and grind a piece of spring steel into a wonderful utility knife perfect for slicing, dicing and chopping. In this class you will - Design your own knife - simple forms are highly recommended to ensure completion within the limited time frame. Forge, normalise, form, surface finish, harden, temper your blade. Make and attach a handle.

Note - Suitable for all levels. Minimum age is 13, though if under 16 you will need to be accompanied by a supervising caregiver or parent.

What materials will be needed?
