Singing sensation and former Featherston/Pae Tū Mōkai resident, Moana Leota, and her live band celebrate the significance of poetry captured in some of the most highly acclaimed songs to date, including ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen, ‘Redemption Song’ by Bob Marley, and ‘River’ by Joni Mitchell, as well as her own work.
Poets Before Me shows how these artists have used poetry to infuse their music, resulting in it being rich, raw, and relatable.
Moana explores how selected artists and their poetry have influenced her life as well as her artistic practice as a singer and songwriter.
