Lissa studied cello at Auckland University with Coral Bognuda graduating with BMusHons, followed by a postgraduate degree, PGDipRAM, from the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Orchestral experience includes: the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and National Symphony Orchestra of Scotland. Founding the Elgin Piano Trio and various string quartets, she gave concerts in the UK, Europe and Canada. She taught cello and chamber music at Lady Eleanor Holles School for Girls, the Junior Department of the Royal Scottish Conservatoire, Jordanhill School and many others.

Lissa now enjoys contributing to the vibrant music scene in the Top of the South.

Hong Kong-born pianist Josie Yau studied piano performance with Shi-guang Cui and vocal performance with Jeffie Leung in Hong Kong Baptist University. After completing her Bachelor in Arts with Honour, Yau served in the government-run Hong Kong Music Office, where she provided theory, aural, ensembleship and choral training for over 300 trainees each year.

Outside her busy teaching schedule, Yau has been an active accompanist, choral conductor and chamber musician performing regularly in Hong Kong, Austria, Germany, Italy, and China.

In 2020, Yau left her government position after 12 years and came to join her husband in New Zealand. Since then, she has been enjoying a break from her previous hectic life, while maintaining a keen interest in meeting and performing with local musicians.
