Ease into the new year with karakia, waiata, kōrero & star making
Haere mai Waiheke whānau, you all invited to a dawn service led by Harley Wade and whānau from Ngāti Pāoa. The morning will begin by the three pou in the Artworks Courtyard and be followed up by shared kai & hot drinks in Artworks Theatre. Harley will be leading a kōrero about the significance of Matariki to Ngāti Pāoa.
Tamariki will be invited to participate in creative activities such star-making with Ember::vision and up-cycling new and preloved garments using stamp print and hand printing techniques run by Jeanine Clarkin.
The morning will finish off with live music by Lily Atu and Jono Benzur till 10am.
This event is brought to you to Waiheke Community Art Gallery, Piritahi Marae and Artworks Community Theatre.
