Description
Over the 2 sessions, we will cover braking, cornering and body position at Karori Park and Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park! We believe the best way to learn to mountain bike is to mountain bike. So our skills courses are a bit different…we go for a ride, stop at various points along the way for a chat. We demonstrate a specific skill, then give you a chance to try it out in the next section. Heaps of practice, kind feedback, plenty of patience and just the right amount of “ah ha! I got it!”
This course takes place in Karori - the address will be included with your course instructions.
You need to bring your own mountain bike (E-mountain bikes are okay for this course, but they must be 'pedal assist' and not 'throttle'), a helmet, and comfortable clothing. Bring a rain Jacket- just in case it’s not sunny, a water bottle and snacks.
If you have a spare tube and pump and bike tools, bring those along as well.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
-Feel comfortable riding on grade 3 mountain bike tracks
-Use your brakes to control your speed
-Go around corners on singletrack trails
-Know how to do a safety check on your bike
-Gain knowledge of where to ride next!
[This is a physical activity that involves an element of risk. While all possible measures are taken to prevent accidents or injury, please note that participation is at your own risk].
