Paul Maseyk uses slip decoration in his pottery work in both tableware and highly decorated ceramic art.
Paul is renowned for throwing and joining sectional pots and will demonstrate his 1, 2, 3 pot, which participants can then try for themselves. He will also demonstrate aspects of slip decoration, including trailing and dipping and will have trailers and pots available for participants to try.
The workshop will begin with a throwing demonstration, then participants will put aspects of these techniques into practice.
Bowls and cups thrown by Paul will be available to attendees to decorate. If possible, participants should bring a basic pottery tool kit (sponge, cutting wire, wooden knife, wooden shark fin rib, steel rib, needle tool and trimming tools).
Bisque firing of finished pieces can be arranged for an additional cost. Details will be available at the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for intermediate skill level. Participants must be comfortable throwing 1kg of clay.
