Join Laurie Steer, the enfant terrible of New Zealand ceramics, on a rare guided descent into the Dark Arts - Sex, Snakes, Spikes & Skulls.
In this limited Masterclass you will learn to rip, tear, squeeze and stab your way to creating savagely sensual surfaces on functional domestic pottery. You will also build unique phantoms, fortifications, serpents, and skeletons to populate these new dystopian landscapes, building interest and drama to activate your pots.
This mad medley of craft violence, dark humour and storytelling will invigorate your pottery practice and encourage a more dangerous and enduring aesthetic.
This workshop is suitable for intermediate skill level. Bisque firing of finished pieces can be arranged for an additional cost. Details will be available at the workshop.
