The Viewpoints - Spontaneity training for performers and non-performers

Training in the Viewpoints heightens a performers awareness of what is actual and what is possible in any given moment. We are educating ourselves to see and hear and sense, then respond with increased attunement and spontaneity. The Viewpoints are a set of names given to certain basic principles of movement and composition. This workshop is suitable for both performers and non-performers who wish to hone their spontaneity and stage/life awareness in a way that is both playful and technical.
Damara Sylvester began her career as a musician in orchestras and bands, before becoming a performer in theatre, circus and dance. Through her company InsideOut Circus and Physical Theatre, she children to adults about creating and directing original shows. Canadian born and raised, Damara’s career has taken her to Japan, New York, Ghana, Europe, Australia and NZ. She believes in learning to play and playing to learn, and uses this approach to help students get out of their own way and stand in their own power. Damara has studied and taught the Viewpoints for over 10 years.
