Volunteer Service Abroad is proud to announce the second in a new series of events called “Ngā reo o VSA – Voices of VSA”. Events will be hosted in major cities throughout New Zealand and each will be a discussion of a specific topic or location within countries VSA operates out of, with speakers ranging from VSA volunteers and staff located abroad to local or international communities and government representatives.

Our second event will cover volunteering and international development in Samoa, particularly "Folauga - The Journey" that Samoa and VSA have undergone in the last 60 years. Doors will open to guests at 5.00pm, with speakers running from 5.30pm - 7pm and a small Q&A at the end. This will be a free event although there will be facilities to receive donations if you would like to contribute to assist VSA and the communities we work with.

Our speakers for this event are:

Pascal Brown - Dr. Brown volunteered with VSA as a Teacher in Samoa from 1981-1983, before going on to volunteer again in the Cook Islands.

Moumita Das Roy - Moumita is a current e-volunteer for the Samoan Woman's Association of Growers (SWAG) as a Digital Communications Adviser from September 2021.

Leta'a Maiava Daniel Devoe - Recently retired CEO of Loto Taumafai Society for People with Disabilities. VSA is proud to be a long-term partner of Loto Taumafai Society with multiple assignments in their school since the late 1990s.

Jan Kennington - Jan volunteered at Loto Taumafai Society for People with Disabilities as a Special Education Adviser in 2018 and again in 2019.

VSA is New Zealand's largest and most experienced volunteer agency, connecting people across the moana between New Zealand and other countries in the Pacific Region. Volunteers live abroad or connect remotely from their homes in Aotearoa to share experience, knowledge and cultures. Working with business, government and organisations located abroad, we collectively transform lives of many, provide greater cultural understanding, and create a fair future for all.
