NZ Gardener VIP Tours - Puketarata Gardens

NZ Gardener is excited to be partnering with the highly anticipated Taranaki Garden Festival to launch the first ever NZ Gardener VIP Tours!

Join editor Jo McCarroll this spring as she hosts a series of bespoke tours as part of the festival’s jam-packed 10-day programme - a celebration of New Zealand’s biggest collection of glorious gardens, art and events.

Along with the garden owners themselves, the guided tour will explore a country garden folding quietly around its hilltop site with mountain and inland Taranaki views. The generous herbaceous plantings, lawn tennis court, perennial border, orchard, berry house and vegetable garden are enhanced by the wider landscape. Natives skillfully blended with exotic varieties giving seasonal variety is a particular strength of this Garden of International Significance. Adjacent to the outer ramparts are 400-year-old Puketarata Pā and Kāinga Keteonatea, both having major significance to the area. The gully below has a QEII Covenant, with natives, exotics and walking tracks.

Garden enthusiasts can also look forward to exclusive one-on-one time with Jo and have the opportunity to ask all those burning questions, or hear first-hand expert advice on garden tips and tricks that they love to read about in their favourite gardening magazine.

The tours will run across four days, with two tour-sessions per garden. Following each tour, the intimate group will enjoy some light refreshments in a tea party setting, as well as receive a complimentary goody bag filled with garden essentials.
