Make art that surprises and inspires!
10:30AM - 12:30PM Monday to Friday, both weeks of the School Holidays.
The Gallery’s popular school holiday programmes offer drop-in, hands-on art making session that the whole family can enjoy.
Inspired by the current exhibitions, the programme changes daily.
Week 2 Programme:
Mon 10 October | Brain Waves:
Construct a wearable mobile inspired by Len Lye’s Dancing Atoms.
Tues 11 October | Initial Sculpture:
Sculpt your initials or name into an artwork.
Wed 12 October | Batik and Stencil:
Create batik inspired artworks using stencils, dye and paper.
Thu 13 October | Tatau:
Create your own printed arm band inspired by traditional Samoan tatau designs.
Fri 14 October | Te Hiku o te Tohora:
Use rubbings from nature and hangarua (recycling) to create hiku (whale tails) inspired by the Tohora and Kauri pūrakau (story).
