During this five day workshop I plan to combine practical experimentation in painting leavened with some art historical, theoretical influences and literature. The subject matter will be generally based on landscape.
WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY FROM THE CLASS.
My aim is to encourage course participants to explore inventive ways of interpreting their response to the landscape and environment through a process of drawing and painting. By looking at the ways in which other artists have done this, we can more easily understand our own journey. The emphasis will be on having fun with process and learning a bit about how many well-known artists discovered effective and progressive ways of working.
PLEASE BRING:
Artist quality acrylic paints 40 ml tubes. Red, blue, yellow, black, white, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, turquoise, gold and copper.
Tube gel medium for acrylic painting, small jar gesso primer, large, medium, small hogs hair brush.
A3 pad heavy grade cartridge or water colour paper.
Aquarelle pencils – small packet or buy singly – black, white, sienna, red, orange, deep blue, turquoise, ochre.
Range of graphite pencils – 6B, 4B, HB.
Glue stick
