Pop Up Dance Hub

Does your child love to dance and perform? Bring them along to our free Pop-Up Dance Hub!

We’re excited to partner with The Mall in Upper Hutt to offer dance classes for children in our community during the school holidays. The classes will be run on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Friday 28 January. There is no cost to attend and no previous dance or performing arts experience is required. Everyone is welcome.

We will have classes for children aged 3 years and up, and our timetable is as follows:

1pm - 2pm - 3 to 5 year olds
In this class, we’ll do some ballet, creative movement, jazz, and acro, and the children will do a mini-performance for parents at the end.

2pm - 3pm - 6 to 8 year olds
In this class, we will learn fun dance and improvisation techniques, and the children will have an opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned.

3pm - 4pm - 9 years plus
In this class, we’ll learn about expressing ourselves with dance and finish off with a fun dance-off and demonstration.

4pm - 5pm - Talent quest entries
We’re running a talent quest to give children the chance to show off their talent. Every child will need to prepare a short dance or theatrical piece that they can perform in front of our judges. The talent request is open to all age groups.

There is no need to register, simply turn up and be ready to have fun.
The venue is the former T&T store space on the ground floor next to Postie Plus in The Mall.
