At a time when we can reflect on some of the greatest challenges our health system has faced in its history we invite you to join us at our annual conference at Te Papa, Wellington, Sunday 28 August.

It is also a time when we are facing uncertainty looking forward, as the most significant changes in the delivery of healthcare in Aotearoa New Zealand in over 30 years are taking place with the introduction of the new Health NZ and Māori Health Authority agencies. For those of us working in the cancer space, we can also reflect on Te Aho o Te Kahu, the Cancer Control Agency, approaching its first full two years as part of our health landscape. To complete the picture we can reflect on the findings of the “once in a generation” review panel of PHARMAC.

Against this tumultuous background, we have assembled an outstanding programme of world-leading experts to share their insights with you. From Aotearoa New Zealand, and overseas, you will hear from senior voices and specialists working to address some of the greatest challenges that face us in terms of the screening, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. We are also delighted to welcome senior representatives from the agencies now being tasked with delivering health services to New Zealanders, as well as an academic trailblazer whose groundbreaking findings graphically illustrate the work needed to ensure that prostate cancer care in our country is provided equitably. We would very much welcome your attendance and participation, and look forward to seeing you there.
