What is Sound Healing?
Sound Healing or Sound Therapy is an alternative healing modality that uses the resonance of sound to induce a meditative state. When you participate in a Sound Bath, you will experience the use of healing instruments such as Crystal Bowls, Tibetan Bowls, Drums and Gongs to invoke different rhythms and frequencies, which entrain our brainwaves to downshift from our normal consciousness to a meditative state making it possible for internal healing to take place. It’s called a bath because the sound waves and frequencies literally wash over you, cleaning away any stuck or negative energies and bringing you back in your natural state of harmony - balancing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Benefits:
- Reduces Stress
- Promotes a deeper connection with Self
- Provides a deep state of relaxation
- Eases depression and anxiety
- Improves sleep quality
- Increases mental acuity
- Unlocks creativity
- Can induce an altered state of consciousness
Bio:
Julie-Ann Marks is a Sound Therapist based in Wellington New Zealand and the founder of Resonant Sound Healing. Originally from Canada, she has travelled the world for work, having careers which spanned the realms of advertising, international live and branded events as well as film productions. Exploring healing modalities has always been a passion of hers. On a search for a deeper connection with self, Sound Healing presented itself to her 7 years ago in London when she attended her first Sound Bath. Upon arrival in New Zealand 5 years ago, Sound Baths were not readily available, and so in 2021 Julie-Ann decided to take her Sound Therapist Certification in hopes of bridging the gap, making Sound Therapy more accessible to the masses and share her passion for vibrational medicine.
