Otago Museum is pleased to host another Seniors' Day at Otago Museum.
In partnership with Radio Dunedin, enjoy $3 barista coffee or $5 Devonshire tea in our beautiful Museum between 10am and 12pm.
Enjoy an early celebration of Matariki with a visit to the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium at 11am for the film Mārama ā-Whetū: Light of the Stars. Mārama ā-Whetū explores Māori sky lore, myths, and legends relating to our southern night sky. The show is narrated in English and tells the story of the Polynesian explorers who navigated across the ocean to Aotearoa New Zealand, highlighting New Zealand’s most significant astronomical features.
As part of our Matariki celebrations, you can also make and take home a beeswax wishing candle to reflect on the year that has been and remember those who have passed.
