Shakespeare is not for reading it is for performing!
Some people’s relationship with Shakespeare and his works never gets a chance to develop because of the way they are introduced to it.
This one-day workshop aims to give people a chance to get the feel for what Shakespeare is about and have a go at performing some of his words on stage.
The day will consist of:
A brief guide to Shakespeare’s life and works
Shakespeare’s Language
Preparing a duologue for performance
A FREE evening performance will take place at 7pm
The workshop is intended for people who may want to refresh their Shakespeare or have had a secret yearning to have a go and haven’t been brave enough yet!
Facilitator Mags Delaney-Moffatt
Mags has a love of Shakespeare which goes back to her own school days, where she was lucky enough to be taught by an inspirational teacher who made the words of the Bard understandable and relevant – something she has tried to do herself both in the classroom, during workshops and directing actors.
For her, drama is the perfect vehicle for individuals to explore their world, themselves, and their relationships with others.
Mags is also an award-nominated stage manager so has good practical knowledge of stagecraft and is always eager to pass it on.
