Jan Bolwell's conservationist grandmother first introduced her to the book Silent Spring at nine years old. The famous book by ecologist Rachael Carson exposes the dangers of the chemical pesticide DDT.
In this play Bolwell revisits Silent Spring through adult eyes, as she takes on the role of Carson in her fight for nature.
Through learning about Carson's struggle to bring an important environmental issue into the light, audiences are challenged to consider current environmental issues in their own backyard.
Silent Spring Revisited is a collaborative work from the exciting creative team of director Annie Ruth, composer Jan Bolton and lighting designer Helen Todd.
"Jan Bolwell shows wit, fluency, precision and charm." Theatreview
