The 3 July show features Carol Bean, Steph Casey and Billy Lyrical

Carol Bean - “I grew up in LA in the 60s. I was influenced by the older blues guys (Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mance Lipscomb), bluegrass pickers, and singer-songwriters who played Travis-style finger picking. The first musician I ever saw at the Ash Grove was Doc Watson. He played his guitar runs so fast we’d moan and he’d say, Eat yer hearts out.” Tonight, Carol is presenting new material – tales of adventures in the Mojave Desert, the mountains of Mexico, and the unpredictable and rocky terrain of love. She is playing solo, and with Nick Swan (Life in the Fridge Exists, Riot 111, Parcel of Rogues, Jacky Tar) and Alan Galloway (Let’s Planet).

Steph Casey - Steph Casey’s songs are a mix of indie/folk/country/contemporary. She has released two studio albums. Her songs were recently licensed for the NZ feature film ‘Poppy’, shot on location in Kāpiti. She has appeared on TV3’s The Cafe, in Next magazine, and performed on RNZ’s New Zealand Live show. She will have special guest Alan Galloway performing with her on tremolo guitar, and her CDs will be available to buy for $20 cash.
Billy Lyrical - Billy Lyrical lives near the Zoo, He plays the Jazz Punk Glitch Funk Folk Rock Blues. He writes songs, he sings songs, and he has strong opinions. We're now entering an Extinction Event. Please extinguish your cigarettes.
