Tall Poppies is a storytelling show in which you (the audience) are invited to prepare a 5-7 minute true story about yourself. Or you can just come along and listen!

The theme this time is GIFTS:

We want your stories of your special talents OR the unique acts of generosity that you have given or received. Experiential presents, surprising items, things you've always wanted and things you never would have wished for. Tell us about the things you've received that you treasure, or maybe items you wish you didn't have to look at anymore. Gifts that have changed your life, or things you've offered to others that changed their lives, respectively. Tis the season of giving and we want you to GIFT us a true story about YOU.

Do you have to tell a story?
NO! Most of the audience will just watch. But seven names will be drawn to share their stories and anyone who might want to tell a story is strongly encouraged to prepare one and give it a go!

How do you prepare a story?
Good question! Here is some advice to get started:

Use the broad theme of the evening to inspire memories of personal, life-changing experiences. Choose one of your most memorable and share the moments leading up to and after the experience. * Humour is always welcome, but don’t feel obligated to be funny. True voices on stage are just as powerful as humour.

Try writing it down to get it down to five minutes and to pinpoint the most crucial moments you want to include.

An example of a great story is linked that takes life’s little moments and gives them a big impact

Can I workshop my story beforehand? Yes! If you would like to workshop your story before the event, don’t hesitate to contact Robin Wachsberger (robinwachsberger@gmail.com)
