Te Tau Hou Māori: Puanga Matariki Celebrations

Come and join us to celebrate Te Tau Hou Māori, The Māori New Year at the Paihia waterfront this Puanga Matariki!

A packed schedule of events is planned across the weekend on Paihia Village Green with free daytime activities from 10am – 3pm on Friday and Saturday, including arts and crafts, music and interactive displays.

The main event starts Friday 24 June at 4pm with music, kapahaka, food stalls and a light and fireworks display along the Paihia waterfront from 7pm.

Rug up, bring the whole whanau and get together to acknowledge this very special and significant time and celebrate the first Matariki public holiday!

NB: The Tiki Taane concert on Saturday 25 June is in the Festival Marquee. This event is ticketed due to capacity restrictions.
