Set on the roadside of small-town New Zealand, The Longest Drink in Town traces the history of a single traumatic event against the crossfire of a weekend handover gone wrong.
Adapted from Slaughter’s dark and dynamic 2015 novella of the same name. The Longest Drink in Town is a brooding, razor-sharp snapshot of the internal lives of five children caught in the fallout of a tumultuous parental affair-turned-wife swap.
Presented by One Question Theatre (No Exit, Pool No Water) in collaboration with Mayhem Literary Journal and co-directed by Dave Taylor and Liam Hinton, The Longest Drink in Town offers a hard-hitting look into the dark side of the quintessential kiwi childhood.
