There are many songwriters and musicians in Waikato, but most are unknown! We aim to bring them to the limelight by organising multi-genre concerts in all ten districts of Waikato.

In this concert, five music groups from Waikato perform their original music.

‘Bird Machine’ are Jenna & Luke Grbin, a pair of lovers from Hamilton, New Zealand and Geelong, Australia. At times dreamy and entrancing, and others urgent and commanding, their music combines the distinct sensibilities of alternative rock, folk, and plush pop melodies. Performing with their backing band, Bird Machine delivers music from their upcoming December 2022 EP release. Bird Machine’s live show is dynamic and nuanced, with honest dialogue that is both commentating and introspective, captured in layered vocal arrangements above a tapestry of guitars, keys, and syncopated beats.
‘deVoto’ is the 1980’s band. The Undertakers reimagined in the 2020s for your aural pleasure. With a catalogue encompassing rock/pop/punk with a touch of the ’80s thrown in….”

‘Tony Lee’s band’. Tony Lee is a Hamilton-based singer/songwriter who writes authentic, salt-of-the-earth tunes and big choruses with heartfelt lyrics worn on his sleeve. He specialised in Country music with a blend of rock music. Their live performances mainly involve six musicians on stage, making people stand up and dance. This concert will be Tony’s third appearance in the ‘Tunes of Waikato’ series of concerts this year. Tony Lee released his full music album “All that a man can do” in April 2016. He is one of the regular artists featuring in NZ and Australian Country Music Festivals!
‘Our Ability’ is a Duo comprising two singer-songwriters, Stacey Te Kanava and Jayke Hopa. They call their music a ‘Contemporary Vission of A Blindman’. Our Ability's music makes you relax, tap your feet and dance!

'Classick J' is a Taupo local rapper with musical influences, including hip hop and reggae. He has written and recorded more than 20 songs, and his music can be found on all stream platforms Spotify,iTunes, etc. Classick J has also featured, including dat 378 boy, True Nelly. One of his highlights opening for 'Mind Over Matter' in Australia! He has also opened for Run Tings on their RUN TINGS TOUR in NZ!

This Tunes of Waikato concert is not to be missed if you are looking for Good New Music! So come and enjoy some of the best music from our place, Waikato!

See you at the concert!
